Thank you for your note. Certain issues will always generate more interest than others <g>. The issue of Chapter vs National has been around a long time. Please see Archie's post on the club board.

Some of us believe THIS ISSUE goes to the very foundation of our organization. When an issue is considered to be that important by some club members those in an elected position of authority should show it (the issue) more respect.

When we vote for individuals to represent us we know that every decision they make will not necessarily please every member. This is understandable and acceptable to rational people. However, certain issues go beyond "the authority" granted to our elected officials and should be decided by the membership. No By-law should ever change fundamental organization concepts.

These type of issues are those that go to the very foundation of our organization. The type of issue that generates heated discussion on both sides.
The type of issue that can ONLY be decided by the entire membership. The results of which we all live with.

Brian, no one, new memeber or old should ever allow the spark that keeps our organization vibrant to go out. Also no individual member should ever discourage or put down a member who feels strong enough about a "foundation" issue to fight to the very end. Someday an issue may "grab" you in such a manner. I hope I am around to encourage you to fight for what you believe in.

You see Brian, if you don't fight for what you believe you are a none entity. You have no character and are better off to crawl into a hole and let the world pass you by. I know you understand I don't mean "you" as an individual. I am writing in terms of concepts.
