This is why I'm asking Fran, to see what he thinks.
I have pieces from the same casinos in France that
have been in operation for over 100-years that have
had different monograms and lettering as many as ten
times or more. Casinos in Aix-les-Bains have
changed names, designs, monograms over and over
again...and we still find new material with
additional monograms. Though I have a lot from
Spain, I never studied the monograms or their
history. I collect too much to be able to know it
all. Take a look at the natural Mother-of-Pearl
piece below. We have no idea as to where it's from.
The name is not recorded anywhere...and the monogram
is unknown. I've shown it to Several European
collectors who have been in the hobby for over
30-years...and they have no idea either. This piece
may be the only one known...it's not recorded,
anywhere.
