John,
Sometimes what appears to be the case is not. If this applies to you, I'm sorry. Often, members on this board as well as the club board look for intelligent responses to "their" concerns. Questions are asked yet no answers are forth coming. Questions are asked of the board members - yet you answer. It appears to me as well as others that the board has given you the "honors" of posting for them. If this is incorrect, may I suggest when a question is directed at them to let them answer their own question. Perhaps this would eliminate opinions that you speak for the board.I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. You know me John, I just call them as I see them <g>.
Many members did not attend the club business meeting because they are unhappy with the club and realize change will not come until there are new elections. Being unhappy with the board IS NOT the same as being unhappy with anything else.
By-law changes have ALWAYS been handled behind closed doors. I have been against this policy when Archie was President. A subject as contoversial as Chapter membership - National membership, in my opinion, should not be decided by the board but by the membership as a whole. Because there were no objections at the business meeting means nothing. The decision was already made - behind closed doors. If someone objected at the business meeting, David would have had every right to say - Sorry, this was a By-law decision by the board and is not subject to debate. Best, Jim
