... Archie, I have been posting messages on election/club-related issues on all three of the main bulletin boards (here, club board and Chequers). The posts here generally receive the best response and I have had some private email saying that the readers frequent only Greg's board because of time constraints.

While I think it would be nice if all club-related issues could be discussed only on the club board, I don't think it is practical at this time to expect that to happen. In part, because these issues sometimes come up in the middle of threads which were started here on other subjects. It is awkward to move a thread from Greg's board to the club board; simply posting a new message there leaves the discussion in a truncated form. Moving all of the preceding posts would be difficult and time consuming.

I will continue to encourage use of the club board by posting election and club-related messages there (including this one, though it will have that truncated appearance I was talking about), but accept the fact that most of the conversation will take place here. BTW, anyone reading this on the club board or Chequers, you can find the preceding messages on Greg's board, starting at the link below.

On the other hand, I usually remember to change the subject line!! <g>
