The family and friends of Robert (Bobby) Holborow cordially invite you to attend a sunset memorial for Bob who passed away on August 9, 2000. Bob was the Vice-President of the So. California CC and GTCC. Everyone is asked to MEET AT THE MOUND north or right of the wooden walk bridge at the water front. A light snack will be served and all are asked to bring something to drink as well as a blanket to sit on. Note: alcohol is prohibited in the park. The evening may get chilly because of the parks location close to the water so a sweater is also advised. As you may or may not know, Bobby was an avid fisherman who sailed from Marina del Rey's ramps just east of Burton W. Chace Park. He also participated in the many fishing derbies that were held at the waters edge, and often parked his boat in the guest docks along the parks edge. He was also the organizer of a group that fought to keep the current boat ramps in place. This area of Marina del Rey was one of Bobby's favorite spots in southern California. Just after sunset and a toast to Bob, the immediate family will board a private boat to take Bobby's ashes to sea upon his own request, to be released the the Santa Monica Bay. We look forward to seeing you at this celebration of life. From the San Diego Fwy (405) take the Marina Freeway (90) west to Mindanao Way turn left. Stay on Mindanao Way to the very end of Burton W.
