The USPS insures well over $600.00. My last plaque mailed cost $1000. It was shipped to Las Vegas and was insured by USPS. My last Cal-Neva Lodge Roulette cost $1,750.00. It, too, was shipped and insured via USPS. I think you need to ask UPS what their max is on numismatic material. I think the people who wrote the Numismatic News article knew what they were talkinh about. I think you have the $600 confused with another USPS type of limit.
