My reasoning is because there is nothing written
within the United States Posal System (or anywhere)
where a seller (shipper) has a risk or responsibility
to deliver anything through the USPS. There is
certainly an ethics matter here, but I do not see a
legal matter. I asked Carl (it's archived) if
insurance was offered or mentioned in his
conversation with the seller. I aslso mentioned
what he could expect if it was. Carl responded with
saying there wasn't any insurance mentioned and that
he was going to drop the matter. It's FACT and it's
archived. Again, I agree with everyone regarding
the ethics. I've also made it quite clear on this BB that postal insurance is the best deal around and that I constantly suggest it be used. I send vertually everything insured...no matter who pays for it. I will never send any costly item without insurance, ever.
