I can see that there are many different viewpoints.
This is really hard.
Based on your suggestions, I am now considering a 19" Trinitron Monitor, a DVD, and a more upgraded video card.
I have been to a few stores and I think I have decided to narrow it down to Compaq or Dell. It seems to be coming out to about $2,000.
There is a Gateway Country Store a few blocks from house that I visited. I was not impressed by their monitors (even the upgraded ones) and the boxes seem outdated, although service would be very convenient.
Don, I do not know of any local shops and would be concerned about their going out of business in this area.
As far as putting my own together, this interested me at first. But, when I was younger I spent over a year putting together a 25" Heathkit Color Console TV from scratch. It was one of the first with a non-wired remote control in about 1970. Nowadays, I think I'll let someone else put it together.
Anybody using Windows 2000?
