I don't believe everything I read in Chip Chat, but if you collect old Nevada chips, you can't afford to be without this newsletter. Doug puts a lot of effort into the publication. His research is very informative, even if his chip attributions are not always obvious from the material he presents. He is also able to get more for a chip at auction than any dealer alive <g>. All his auction results are published, with names of high bidders.
Take the subscription and keep every issue for reference. It may not make you a 'heavyweight' collector but at least they won't have more info than you do on Doug's research projects (10c chips, small town Nevada chips, older California chips, etc.).
