Steve Wynn was quoted as saying that he was shocked when he learned that the property was losing $45,000 per day. It had been his intention to keep it open until one of the new properties opens (he is planning 2 or three hotels on the site). It seems that people stay at the D.I., but are lured out of the building by (Steve's) other creations...
I've heard both stories about the future of the golf course; that it would stay open for up to 18 months, and that it would ultimately be destroyed (the land is too valuable for golf!). One thing is for sure, the property has water rights (just like the Dunes/Bellagio), so you can expect fountains/fountains, and more fountains!
