It took a very dedicated Club member by the name of Eric Rosenblum several years to get the IRS to recognize our Club as a non-profit/educational organization and thereby tax exempt under 501(c)(3). One of the primary documents scrutinized was our Constitution and By-Laws which dictates, among other things, our name. Maybe one of our legal/professional minds can explain what ramifications changing our name might have on our tax-exempt status. It is my understanding that we would be starting at square one again with our purpose and intentions subject to microscopic scrutiny again (Not that we would have anything to worry about).
I believe all Club participants know what the Club represents. Our new members will learn quickly enough what our Club name represents. It's not broken, so let's not try to fix it.
