I don't mind going over the issues again. I think new members need to understand what the club is, and the membership as a hole has the right to decide what the club is. If the membership changes, so can the club.

However, growing the membership by expanding the purpose of the club can be dangerous. Different groups have different ideas about what's important. If we specifically added slot card collectors, for example, people who only collect slot cards may vote against activities related to chips. If enough slot card collectors joined the club, it may cease to be a chip & token club. Hey, we already have token people who are offended if you just call it a chip club <g>! Slot card collecting is growing and deserves it's own club. Many people will join both, and we can have combined events. But we must maintain our focus and identity. One you understand and agree what the club is all about, then you can agonize over whether the name properly expessses the purpose. I think our name does just fine.
