Marty-
I don't think your suggestion is off base. Belinda and I have talked about this idea. I have not run it by the Board or the dealers so I will give you my personal thoughts.
I am strongly opposed to charging for educatioanl seminars. We have too hard a time getting people to attend. The lunch idea might work, but how many members or sponsors are going to pay $10-$12 for a deli sandwich and a Coke? That's what the hotel would charge to cater lunch. Plus attendees would have to commit and prepay before the Convention so we could schedule the catering. Most people would make a decision at the last minute.
The concept of dual functions is probably something we are going to have to deal with. I agree if we continue to grow and add activities we are going to have to double up at some point. Right now Belinda and I are looking at the whole schedule and may try to re-work several things. Hopefully in the next 60 days we will have an idea as to the schedule. I'm certainly not saying the show hours can't be violated, I just need to get some more input from the dealers and the Board.
Now it's time for the advertising. IF we had more volunteers, we could do a lot of new activites. Right now we are streched to the limit and beyond.
Not the answer you expected I bet <G>.
As always, thanks!
