On 10 Aug. 2000 the CC>CC lost one of its most devoted and passionate members.Bob Holborow age 52,passed away at his ranch in Northern Calif.Although he was a native of Santa Monica Calif.and also had a home there, he loved his ranch in Garberville, Ca. For those who did'nt know him he was set up at our recent convention at tables 70 &71(GamingChips.com).Bob took great pride in setting up a very professional looking display. And also had a great big smile.
Bob and I shared many common interests together. We were both in the U.S.A.F.,both served in Southeast Asia in the late 60's, both enjoyed classic cars, etc, etc, etc. However, our greatest mutual interest was our passion for collecting casino chips. Especially obsolete Las Vegas. Many of Bob's contributions to this hobby are not common knowledge. But I feel he should be given credit for establishing his website gamingchips.com. His whole purpose for establishing the site was to provide a forum for collectors, and dealers to list their areas of interest and provide a listing of fellow collectors and dealers with similar interests. He has never used his website to sell any chips. This website was set up approx. 3 years ago.I for one feel that this unselfess contribution has helped our hobby grow.
Bob my friend you will be missed.
