The drying-out was a concern for me also. But I had been using it on the vinyl and plastic in my vehicle and it didn't seem to strip the oils from them.

So I did some experimenting on chips and it did not seem to be a problem.

I like the pink "Magic" you are talking about but am just as happy with the ArmorAll. This is not to say that I think the ArmorAll is better... I just like it for the spray feature and ease of use.
