Re: How to clean Chips
In Response To: How to clean Chips ()

Brian,

There are several products that have been talked about... But after trying the ones "made especially" for chips, I've found that I like something else...

I have settled on ArmorAll Multi-Purpose Auto Cleaner, a SOFT toothbrush, and warm water from the tap. NEVER soak the chips in water or anything else. I just spray a bit of the ArmorAll Cleaner on both sides of the chip and brush it while holding in your hand. Rinse well with warm water from the tap and immediately place on a dry towel and pat dry with another towel.

I like ArmorAll because it is MADE to use on plastic auto dashes and carpet and removes the grease and ground-in dirt but is not harsh on the chips or your hands.

This was not 'my idea'. Someone suggested it on this board about a year ago and without trying it... I made some smart-a*s remark about it being fine for autos but I wouldn't use it on chips. Well, I ran out of the other stuff one weekend and tried the ArmorAll on a couple of chips... I wouldn't go back.

It cleaned up the Panama chips that I got from Spinetti.... These have to be the WORST, DIRTIEST, GREASIEST chips in the world. But, they came clean with the ArmorAll Cleaner.

Hope this helps...

Steve in Albuquerque

P.S. I don't suggest using the regular ArmorAll product that we use to SHINE your dash on your chips...
