We are presently going through the Redwood Lodge saga. There have been similar threads regarding the Thundebird Chips, A post I made regarding the Trop reverse image Millennium, The Riviera Porno chips and who knows how many more,there have beed plenty.

The question I ask is what is a seller guilty of if anything, and who gets to make the determination.
On a regular basis when an auction is discovered using the word "Rare" Archie receives a bunch of E-mails and if the chip in question is an A/C chip and is not rare Archie is gracious enough to send him/her an E-mail to set them straight. In one case he received an answer saying that the seller that sold him the chips told him it was a rare chip and we accept this.

A dealer posts a set of Riviera Porno chips and says that only 200 sets got out and we accept this.

A dealer posts a Thunderbird $5 and posts a value of $1600+ dollars and we accept this

We are not the chip Police nor are we in a position to criticize the seller for sins of omission or overuse of adjectives .I think its impossible to determine what any Individual has in mind

I suppose I could start circulating a rumor that 4 Queens was going to pull the recent $25 Summer Chip because the Gaming Comission thought it was too provacative. For most part it wouldn't be challenged any more than most of the day to day stories that go with these auctions on E-bay

At some point a suggestion was made that the club should have their own auction site. The club has a code of ethics, It could use the revenue, and potential buyers could be made aware that there really is a group called the "Chip Police" protecting their interests. Who knows it might even work as a site to promote membership.

On a daily basis i'm getting more and more disenchanted with E-bays Chip auctions. I'm spending more and more time trying to sort out the crap....
