Dumb and Dumber.

As a new collector, many moons ago, I thought the best way to clean chips was with steam. So I set the kettle to boil and held up an inexpensive chip with a pair of needle nose pliers to see how it would work. You can see the results below.

The steam heated the chip up enough to make it soft and the pliers left their mark at about the 9 o'clock position.
