That was the answer I was looking for... but didn't know how to ask it.

So the "quantity" figures shown in TCR come from the figure shown on the chips (LE's) themselves... not any official source... correct?

I guess the chip manufacturers would not be prone to release production figures so it's up to speculation on the numbers produced on other than LE's. But, in about 50 years maybe someone will sell the order and production records... like they're doing for some of your illegals now. :^)
