For what it's worth, I agree with Bob, Why did the guy put the chip on ebay to begin with? Was it just to have it appraised? I don't beleive ebay is running an appraisal service. In my mind it all comes down to good faith, Mr. Rizzo bid on the chip in good faith, naturally assuming the consigner was selling the chip in the same good faith. If you own something, wish to sell it, and don't have a clue what it's worth, take the time and make the effort to find out before you come off looking like a greedy unethical consigner.
