Re: Doesn't take LV local to answer that.....

...question Steve. The chip that sets the percentage payout in a slot machine is not programmable to payout more or less during any specific time frame. It's strictly a percentage pay-back over a long period of time, usually a year. In order for a casino to change the pay-out of a particular machine, the internal chip that controls this function must be changed, and this operation must be conducted after receiving approval from the gaming commission. IOW, if a casino wants to raise or lower the pay-out of an individual slot machine, the chip that will do that has to have been tested and approved by gaming. The chip is then supposed to be secured in the machine in a manner that would indicate down the road if it had been tampered with or changed in any way.

.....there are people in prison now who thought they could introduce a favorable pay-out chip into slot machines with the help of crooked casino employees.

....bottom line, the higher percentage machines will take all of your money, they just take a little longer doing it!
