Several hotel chains have been promoting less service in the name of being environmentally friendly for a couple years. The pitch is printed on a card with instructions on how the hotel chain is concerned about preserving natural resources, and you can help by not wanting your towels and linens washed and replaced daily. I've seen this in hotels in places like Minnesota, where there is a more-than-ample supply of water. It's a pitch to reduce the overhead of housekeeping costs at the hotel. ....looks like it's catching on in more places.
