I agree that it is admirable that you are willing to sell your collection to provide a memorable vacation for this person.

Perhaps someday you'll be able to return to the hobby. After my wife became ill, I took two years off from collecting. Once I resumed collecting, the chipping community became an important part of my ability to deal with our family health problems.
