Ron,
The news is not very good. Laughlin competes with the Las Vegas strip for the lowest player-win figures. The other bad news is that Laughlin caters to the middle-age and older crowd. I don't think any of the casinos have childcare.
Please don't think I'm badmouthing Laughlin. I'm one of those middle-age people they serve.<g> It is a much more laid back place than LV. The two nicest places to stay are the Flamingo and Harrah's. If you stay at Flamingo you can walk from casino to casino along the river. You would want to drive from Harrah's to the rest.
Ramada Express is the only resort not on the river. They have a train ride that circles the property.
Avi is technically not in Laughlin, but on an Indian reservation. It is near none of the other resorts. I have never been to it, nor do I know anything about the player-win figures.
I hope this doesn't discourage you, it's a nice town to visit. By the way, in the summer it is about 10 degrees hotter than Las Vegas.
