Re: Paris LV Roulette ramblings....

Hi John,

"I've never seen this happen since I've been playing
the game....and I was introduced to the game in
1962, but I have had the croupier alert me that I
failed to place my 0-2 split (American wheel) when
my eyes left the layout."

The dealers will regularly ask me for additional jetons if the stack I push their way (or what they keep from a payoff) is short a jeton or two to cover my regular bets.

"I don't enjoy the French
game, as it's too slow."

That's one of the things I like about the game, a relaxed pace. Allen Banick played beside me for a while Friday night, and the pace of the game was also very attractive to him. You don't feel rushed to place your bets like you sometimes are on American roulette tables.

"I doubt that
Paris will keep the game too much longer, also."

I hope not. I'd been flying to Vegas once a month since last August, have made it out there every three weeks since early May this year, just to play that table!

"What was the most amount of players you've seen at
the table at one time?"

They have seating for eight. I know there have been seven active seated players, and several folks betting only outside bets while standing on the sidelines at the same time at the table while I have been playing.

"I usually carry the 250,000 Oostende plaque with me
when I'm in the islands, as most of the croupiers
from the UK are familiar with the house. They, too,
are blown away when I drop it asking for change. I
just tell them I forgot to cash it in during my last
session. <g>"

I'll bring another plaque with me when I go back on the 11th. ....not quite as large as your Oostende 250,000. ...but it should get much the same reaction! <G>
