I just caught part of this story on a Nationally syndicated travel radio program today.
Sounded like it happened recently...
From what I gathered, there was a pleasure/cruise ship called the Delta Queen... It was traveling along the Mississippi River. It had liquor on board, of course. When it docked in Tennessee, it was 'raided' by Tennessee Troopers / Police / State Revenue Agents, etc. and ALL alcoholic beverages (reported to be about 3,000 bottles of booze ) aboard were seized and will be sold at auction.
The raid was based on some sort of jurisdictional dispute over liquor licenses, tax paid on the booze, etc. The booze had been legally purchased and the taxes paid elsewhere... BUT not in or to the state of Tennessee.
Anyone else hear about this??
