Andy, the fact is that not all collectors are interested in high end chips, expensive obsoletes, etc. that usually are available on the auction block.

Some, such as myself, are into current, first , second and possibly third generation LE's that are fairly common and don't warrant paying excessive amounts to acquire. We collect for the pleasure, the attractiveness of the chip, comradeship etc, without the expectation of ever selling our collection or with a profit motive in mind such as dealers might have.

I know your post was in jest, but just for the record, I personally could not bear to see an expensive chip costing upward of a mid 2 figure level and especially a 3 figured value stored in a binder to be admired interminably. I'd much rather have 20 $5.00 chips worth face value than a single $5.00 chip worth a $100.00 (to some.). True, my opinion is probably abnormal, not in the mainstream with most collectors, but that is my interest. It is people such as this that I am inviting to participate for an alternative activity during the auction.
