RIGHT John,
And not to get off topic too much <g>... I see some parallels between this and another recent board topic....
I hear BRAND NEW CARS advertised for ONLY $1.00 over INVOICE. They're NOT.
I went to see the "BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR" (It sucked!)
I bought a box of Post 100% Bran Cereal... But it WAS NOT 100% Bran.. it also contained Sugar, Flour, Salt, and Fig Juice.
The Keebler Folks advertise and tell me that ELVES make their cookies. They couldn't possible because Elves don't exist.
My box of ALL NEW Tide laundry detergent ACTUALLY contains some of the SAME ingredients that the OLD Tide contained... So it ISN'T "ALL NEW", is it?
A new Salsa promised to "Set my Tastebuds on FIRE!" - I ate some - It didn't - and I'm real glad!!
I saw a chip on eBay that was called "rare" by the seller - it wasn't - but I liked it and bought it.
THE POINT IS - It's called ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION and maybe even 'Hype". It's all around us and is a part of our culture.
