I've seen side games as Boul and Slots in side rooms, but I've yet to see any formal gaming at a reception. Such would be on the order of beds at a hotel reception. <g>

I don't know who Peter is/was, but if I had to take a wild shot in the dark, I would say he's Cantonese and runs a wild game of chance den with typical style. (I can't be too off base with this one,)
