I just returned from Las Vegas and played many of the silver strike machines there. I most cases you have to play the machines to get them and some of the casinos will let you trade the duplicates at the cage for those you don't have and others say you have to either keep or cash in what you win and will not trade. Some casinos that used to have the machines have the silver strikes available for sale at the cashier. I was able to purchase silver strikes at face value at Desert Inn, Fremont, and Golden Gate (older variety only). Also found a friendly change person at McCarran Airport that had one I needed and sold it to me at face value. Was able to trade duplicates at -- Horseshoe, Stratosphere, Las Vegas Club, and Hard Rock Hotel. I'm sure there's other casinos that will trade and others that used to have the machines that still have the strikes available for sale at the cashier. Never hurts to ask of course.
