330 MPH is what is it now Jerry, and only because the NHRA has limited the amount of CH3NO2 in the fuel mixture to 90%. I was standing at the finishline at the Motorplex in Dallas when Cory MaC ran the first 320 MPH run in a fuel car. It was awesome!
Too bad the rocket cars were so dangerous. Kitty O'Neil set the top speed mark in a quater-mile at somewhere around 425 MPH back in the late 70's. I'd have to look it up to get the exact numbers (and verify the year). The rocket car ET record is 3.56 seconds (again, I'd have to look up the exact numbers and year, 80's I think), not set by Kitty. I came real close to marrying her cousin about 25 years ago...
