Hi Michael,
In my responses to David's posts I was agreeing that the chip was not rare. My post to Archie was nothing more than a light ribbing concerning his dislike of the word rare in eBay titles and descriptions. I've been known to have come on this bb sevearl times in response to Archie's "rare" post saying that I truly feel the word rare is used because the majority of those who use it don't even think twice about it or have no ideas as to its meaning concerning Numismatics. Archie is a Numistmatist....he knows what rare is when he sees it. I know what rare is when I see it. John Q. Public has no idea as to what rare is concerning Numismatics. Why? Because he's under the impression if it's not in circulation or obsolete...it must be rare. Who is at fault for this? Us. Why? For not educating those who have no idea [eBay sellers]. So, to sum things up: The chip is not rare to those who know its history. The chip has indeed been listed on eBay by me. Nobody can stop you from using the word rare when you want to, Michael, but I'd like to ask you to at least give it some thought about using it when you know a chip is not rare. I guarantee you that you will never hear another peep from me concerning you; your auctions, or you using the word rare.
Good luck....and welcome to the club.
JB
