(clang!) Time Out. Who is Dick? Are you refering to Richard Price?
OK, we can start the fight again.
Rich, I don't want to beat a dead horse, but... I absolutely agree that this BB is a place to debate the merits of the word "rare". I find most of the discussions on the issue interesting to say the least. At times, indeed, fascinating. I've been collecting for about 10 years. I don't have a smidgen of the chip knowledge of so many of our fellow collectors. I'll name a few: Archie Black, Gene Trimble, The General, Dr. Meyers, CT Rodgers, Michael Par, You, (yeah, you read that right)... What I don't like to see is posting for the sake of posting (kinda like what I'm doing now?). Man, people in the antiques & collectibles biz are going to use the words "rare", "mint", "unique", etc. & nothing, I mean NOTHING, is going to change that! That's advertising, I guess.
What I strongly objected to, and what started this...fight?, is the implication in David Moore's original post that Michael Par is dishonest. (Now go back and reread the original post. The word "sucker" used as a verb connotes dishonesty.) I like to think that I would defend ANY of my fellow chip collectors against an unwarranted attack.
Perhaps we are going to have to agree to disagree?
