Good point, I agree with you. I think at some point a widely accepted grading system can be positive for the hobby. I do not think that a grading system that assigns a numerical value from 1 to 100 (or whatever) is what most chippers want. There is no way to say that one chip is a 63 and the next chip is a 64, consistantly. You are then trying to make something analytic or scientific when it really is subjective. However, some general terms like New, Slightly Used, Used, Worn and Damaged (which are already in wide spread use) can be formalized to the benefit of most of us. Then again, considering the background of this hobby and knowing a little about the Nevada spirit, maybe it doesn't make it sense to try and "regulate" the chip hobby in any fashion.
