Last night I bit the bullet and subcribed to my local cable TV company's, Cablevison's, cable modem service. I installed the hardware last night and this morning the service was working. It cost $149, $299 - $150 rebate, to buy the cable modem and $30 per month for the service. You also need an Ethernet Adapter and some cables. However, I am now always logged on the internet, no more dial ups, so my telephone charges will go down quite a bit. And the service is fast, like instantaneous. When of the best things I ever did.
