You did nothing wrong Steve. Waiting a couple days on your part could be seen as a courtesy to let others think about bidding, but not what I'd call necessary. Ebay collected their listing fees. Whomever asked the seller to return your MO after you had completed a deal AFTER the auction was closed made the simple mistake of not doing what you did first, and was out of line for asking the seller to cancel your deal.
