Bob: Hotel room keys are a dime a dozen. Don't feel too secure when the guard requests that you show one. It's all minor window-dressing to make the guests feel like somebody is in control. They can be obtained from most hotel desks just for the asking.... much like blank slot cards.... not to mention the early check-out boxes by most elevators or hotel lobbies where guests are encouraged to drop them instead of turning them back in at the desk.
