....I've always wonder just how many people have to touch something to justify a handling charge??? <G>

My eBay auctions, I pay postage, insurance, and don't add anything for handling.

In my regular business, shipping charges are included in the price, or specified as being the customer pays actual cost of shipping. I've done business in more than 10 foreign countries, and those can get tricky with the paperwork, could justify a "handling" charge, but I don't do it. About 80% of my regular business is mailorder. Keeping it simple and upfront concerning shipping and postage add-ons will keep customers buying from you. ONE misunderstanding due to you appearing to mislead a customer can cost you a life-long customer. 23 years in my biz now...lots of life-long customers!
