There has been a lot of discussion lately about which games give you the best odds or chances of winning. In fact I have been surprised that there has occasionally been some "bad" information given out by those who I think should know better. I found the attached page in this months Casino Player Magazine and think that most of you will find it interesting especially since the convention will soon be here and we will be hitting the casinos hard. The only two comments that I have are that in order for these to be "true" odds you have to know how to play most of the games(BJ basic strategy, perfect video poker, etc.) and that the house take on craps will be further reduced by any "odds" bet made by the player. Also keep in mind that these are long term odds and that there may be significant short term losses before hitting the "big" one. That is why BJ and craps are normally favored as winnable since there is no big pot to win. How much do you think that $200,000 jackpot in Caribbean Stud skews the odds? I scanned the whole page to let you also see the definitions of house edge and risk. As you can see Blackjack and 6/9 Jacks or Better Video Poker are the clear winners. I appologize for the size of the scan but think it is worth it.
