On Sunday June 4th the Atlantic City Chapter held its first meeting in its new home in the Starlight Room at Resorts Hotel and Casino. In this final meeting before the National Convention in Las Vegas, interest and enthusiasm was at its peak. During the four hour meeting, 143 members, guests and the curious public ( some of whom stayed and joined) were in attendance and trading was extremely active. The auction conducted by Bruce Landau produced some interesting results. Before allowing for commissions, the Will Espin chip sold for $55 ( which is remarkable when you consider that most of the locals have already managed to get that chip one way or the other), and a Christ Church New Zealand $5 Millennium brought a $30 price. The membership contributed 63 AC chips to fill a Board and Frame that will hang in the Atlantic City Museum with a Plaque honoring the memory of Bob Mera. It was a great day for all the collectors. We hope to meet and greet our counterparts from Chapters across the country at the convention in July. Have a good Summer.
