Shortly after I started collecting chips and tokens, I started to run across cards, dice, mugs, glasses, stir sticks, matches and ashtrays. Whenever they were reasonably priced I'd pick them up and tell my wife, "No, I only collect chips and tokens. These other things are for trading for chips and tokens."
Well, after two years, about the only non- chip or token thing I've traded for a chip or token (other than cash) was a salelitte receiver (Toshiba DSS). Imagine my surprise when my wife, in no uncertain terms, said, "You need to get a table at the Convention and get rid of those non- chip and token things!" She even wrote the check! In fact, when we are there (for all four days!), the room will be COMP'ed (at the Excalibur) because of her video poker action.
She still cringes with every chip I get, every "this will only take a minute" trip to a Cashiers Cage, and with every "gee Honey, wouldn't that china cabinet make a nice display case?"
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Convention and if my wife comes around, please pretend to barter. <g>
