Texas Instruments has perfected a radio transmitter that will survive the heat involved in chip manufacture. Chipco will be imbedding these transmitters into their chips in the near future. They will identify the value of each chip in a stack, transmitting the information to a receiver built into the table, and possibly to receivers in other areas of casino security. Unlike the Paul-Son microdot, these small radio transmitters will not be visible on the chip. If I remember right, the cost increase for this technology should be about 80 cents per chip.
