In my town it means come back some other time, they are on their "cookies and milk" break.

When you drop local mail off at our post office, it is trucked to Oakland, 75 miles away, "for sorting" then it is trucked back and put in our P.O. boxes. I know this sounds totally absurd, but it is absolutely true!!!

Keep in mind, each time the USPS raises the price of regular 1 oz. letter postage by one cent, it creates an 800 MILLION DOLLAR per year revenue increase. But at least you can rest your mind, knowing it is being wisely spent!!!
