While I was in high school, I worked summers as a busboy and waiter in a couple of the Catskill hotels. One place I worked was the, at one time famous, Flagler Hotel. The first resort in the USA with its own golf course. By the time I got there it was pretty run down. It closed and reopened as the Fountains of Rome. Just consider the name and you should be able to get its affiliation. Although I never saw it, the word was that there was a casino on the third floor of the main building. The Catskills were well known as a corrupt place, I am sure that there were many more more underground casinos. I wonder why chips have not surfaced.
