Hey Katie & Steve,
First off - WOW! I was expecting to hear something from one of the Limostuds - either Bob or Greg, yet to see this long string of messages! AMAZING!!!
Steve, first understand this has been a LONG-standing joke between the Limostuds and myself. I know that there will NEVER be another Limostud, nor should there be. Yes there was the Pick-up knock-off down in Tunica a while back - yet that is another story... <VBG>
Katie - I must admit I was one of the people that first thought that you purchased your 45's at an antique store. I apologize for this misconception. From your pictures I, like most, thought that you were way too young to be a vinyl person. ;)
I do have one question - from your post:
--------------------
"... all you had to do is flip the switch from LP (or whatever it
said...) setting to the 45 setting....in order to hear the music
the way it was supposed to be heard, required the turntable to spin
slower....in this case 45 revolutions per minute.... "
--------------------
Did I read that right - to slow down the turntable? That implies you were listening to 78's!!! You're certainly were not old enough to have purchased 78's when they were released!!! <VBG>
The turntable I have, you can select from 33 (actually 33 1/3 Revolutions per minute or RPM) and 45 RPM. I had an older turn table that also had the 78 RPM setting - yet that was a while ago... <VBG>
