Hey Rich,
??? Did I miss something? Your question asks:
"Dick, please explain what happened to you and what was the solution"
I didn't know anything happened to me - except Jane Trimble's comment to have me banded from 'the chip board' - since "He knows tOOOOOOOO much about computers and cameras. Ain't he a limo stud????"...
Seriously, I believe you are asking about Jim Munding's problem getting on to the chipboard...
If so, here is what transpired. Tuesday 16 May I talked with Jim at the So. Cal. CC>CC chapter meeting. I asked Jim what kind of problems he was having. He indicated that he got a "time out error" when trying to get to Greg's BB. I asked if he could get any web page - to which he indicated that he could go to any web page he wanted to except to 'thechipboard'. I thought a minute, and told him that I would think about it. Then I had asked if he could receive e-mail. He indicated that he could.
Last night while I couldn't sleep - I thought that may be it was a problem with AOL. So I sent an e-mail to Jim asking him to try connecting to AOL as normal, then minimize the AOL window, and launch either Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, then try to go to the BB.
It looks like it worked, as Jim is back on the BB.
I suspect either a cookie is corrupted, or some other configuration file within AOL is corrupted. If so, then I would suggest that Jim (or someone that can help him) re-install AOL - I'd also suggest that e-mail contact list should be backed up prior to re-installation of AOL. Just in case something bad happens during the re-installation.
I hope this helps...
Dick
