I have never played roulette and it is the only casino game I have not stood watch over. Maybe you numbers guys can pick this one apart. It happened at the Sahara over a 3 year span. The customer came up from Ca about twice a month.
He would play a $25 chip on every number but 3 numbers. He split the 0-00 with a $25 chip. The other 3 numbers would be covered by a line or a block bet. He played like this for hours over a Fri, Sat, and Sun. The ratings for his play got him from $4,000 to $5,000 in comps for every weekend he played. The Pit boss who is telling the story, says the biggest loser he ever saw was about $1,500 and the biggest winner he ever saw was about $5,000. They figure the guy about broke even over the 3 years.
BUT,
He was rated as one of the Sahara's biggest players. He stayed in a suite as RFB, air fare, was comped to any show on the strip, played golf, girls, and whatever else the Sahara had on its comp menu.
If this story is true, I retract my opening post in this thread. Roulette can be beat!!! This guy had a 3 year free vacation. <g>
