Per the Shuffle Master 1999 Annual Report:

Yes they do sell Shuffle Master units with prices in the $8000-$10,000
range, but most places lease at the $400-$500/Mo range with service.

Why so expensive, the units require service, and they must be approved
by NV gaming or other states, to be used in the casinos, a costly approval process.

They said that the new ACE single deck model is now replacing the older
BG-3 so I think you might find used BG-3's on the market.
