John; My opinion is that advertising pays for a large percentage of the cost of publishing the club magazine. Making the magazine available electronically would stiffle the incentive for those who do advertise. Most publications that I have visited on their websites do not include advertising on their e-pages... probably for the reason that most e-readers are only interested in the "meat" of the publication, and not the ads.
Personally, I think at this point in the club's development that making the publication accessible on-line to those clamoring to make it happen is premature and self-defeating. In the larger scheme of things, as an organization, we are still small potatoes. Keep constantly stirring the pot folks. Before long you'll have no publication and no volunteers. Just my candid opinion for whatever it's worth.
