... whose name is Lyle Bainbridge (not meaning to horn in on your action, Travis, but I asked him specifically about the $20 chip, which he hadn't mentioned). Here's what he had to say:
>> Your Texas Chip and some of the Palace Chips carry the same pattern; but
I have not seen a $20.00 one out of Missoula. Of course I haven't seen
them all. My pawn shop source only had $.25, $1.00, and two versions of
the $5.00 chip. The second version is yellow and has "Palace Poker" in
two lines on one side; and "$5.00" on the other. Concerning the
similarity in the Texas and Missoula chips, could the same company have
produced both and sent the same chip to both towns?
Lyle
P.S. One thing the Pitt Boss mentioned was the fact that he sent his
manager to Vegas to buy chips. This would have been in the 70's; but he
didn't mention style of chip to me. <<
So, maybe we shouldn't be too quick to change the attribution on the $20 chip????? ----- jim o\-S
